This place is such a lovely gem! The owner Grace is beautiful inside and out and her personality comes through in the ambiance and offerings of her quaint cafe. Everything is perfect, pastries, delectable Venezuelan and Hispanic cuisine, and culinary treasures to go.

I love it here !! I try to go every time I come back from school. The food is great, and the last time I went in they even sent me and my friend home with extra cake :) it feels like you’re visiting a friend’s house more than a cafe. and the food is so good ! I recommend the passion fruit smoothie.

When we travel south, such as the Carolinas or Florida, my favorite part of the trip is always the Venezuelan bakeries. I went to one by accident in an attempt to buy donuts for breakfast while on vacation, but I quickly learned the difference. Now I seek them out for their empanadas and espresso. Sadly, there aren't many Venezuelan bakeries in Western Pennsylvania, so this was only a treat when we traveled. Yesterday, I realized there is in fact one such place and it isn't very far from our house! And I can't think of a better way to start a Monday than with a cortado and an empanada!! There are two kinds of people, those who like empanadas and those who haven't tried them yet. Whichever category you are in, you should check out "Tu y Yo Cafe" on Harts Run Rd. They open at 7am on weekdays and 8am on weekends. They also have Arepas.

The best cortado coffee in the greater Pittsburgh area. Period. The owner is a wonderful lady who cares a lot about her products and the quality of the service she provides. I am always greeted with a smile and we chat about our day, that’s the great thing about neighborhood cafes. Definitely worth a visit when your are in the hood. Also, great place to buy treats from South America.

I was so excited to find this gem hidden in the hampton/gibsonia area. I am from FL and havent had Arepas in probably 20 years. Eating here made my entire day. The food is amazing and flavorful. The atmosphere is so calm and inviting. Highly recommend!!

Over a bridge and 16 miles later one-way, I arrive at my favorite place in the Burg’ —Tu y Yo Cafe (Spanish for You and I Cafe) nestled among other small businesses in a tiny strip mall with easy access straight into the cafe. First, I order the cordatido. It’s espresso with sweetened milk and I crave it between visits! It is my absolute favorite and the only place where I can find a “properly” prepared one in the city. I savor each delectable sip while pondering what to enjoy on the premise and what I’ll take with me to-go later. I commonly see others that do the same as I. They also offer a Toddy; a non-coffee drink; high-quality tasting chocolate milk with origins in Venezuela. There’s nothing like it! That’s easy. Now it’s decision making time and it becomes more difficult with each visit. I have my favs, yet the delightful owner Grace continues to expand and offer more delectable items to the menu. So, if you see a menu online, know there are likely more choices! Also, Grace welcomes all questions to aid in making a decision. I chuckle because each time I visit I hear customers declare, “this is so delicious!” and I mirror their sentiment. Today I begin with something new. It’s a warm, hand held savory that’s delicious on its own. The bread is light with a great texture and inside it’s packed with tasty minced ham. Then, tequenos which come in a set of three. Sticks of warm cheese nestled in a savory dough and they are sooo yummy alone or with some Pico de Gallo sauce. Or, opt for the sweet chocolate hazelnut option. Generally, I always get a beef empanada in-house or to-go. Upon arriving today the aroma of chicken filled my nostrils as they were preparing to make more chicken empanadas because they sold out. It may sound a little crazy for a less adventurous eater, but, I suspect you’ll fall in love with the delicious taste of a beef empanada without identifying the raisins, capers, and green olives. Oh my. I am salivating just thinking about them right now! The pan de bono (or pandebono) is made with yuca (not yucca) is also outstanding. The small balls of dough have a texture that is just right and served warm, not too sweet, and lovely with a warm beverage. The cafe ambiance is airy and cozy with many seating options. There’s a gorgeous colorful mural on one wall, a wall of windows on another packed with a myriad of live plants. Packaged international items are available for purchase throughout the cafe. And, there are always really cool inspirational “trinkets” to consider as well. If only they were closer to home. Dreaming until my next visit.

One of the highlights of moving to Hampton is this cafe. The food is remarkably fresh and outstanding. The breakfast burrito and the arepas are incredibly good. The coffee is also fantastic. Do yourself a favor and check it out. It will brighten your day
